JustUs League to Premiere at The Actor's Playground
New Troupe Dumps "Two Drink Rule," Making America
Safe for Comedy
NEW YORK, MARCH 25, 2002 - With the mission of "Making
America Safe for Comedy," new comedy troupe the JustUs
League is set to shake up the morals of the general public
and conquer the comedic world at its international debut,
10:30pm Saturday, April 13 at The Actor's Playground.
In an effort to make high quality, live comedic
entertainment accessible to all, the group has impetuously
cast aside the unwritten "two drink minimum" rule
common on the New York City comedy scene, instituting in its
place a laughably low admission
price and intermission concessions offered at fair market
value.
The JustUs League will combine sketch comedy, live music,
contemporary video and surprise elements to keep audiences
on their toes and rolling on the floor laughing. Each
week will spotlight a new musical guest, stand-up comedian
and/or other local talent. Jo Davidson, whose latest
album "Kiss Me There" was recently released
nationally, will perform at the group's premiere on April
13.
The JustUs League will be performing 10:30pm every Saturday
night at The Actor's Playground, 412 8th Avenue, New York
City. Tickets are $5, or $4 with valid student I.D.
For reservations, call toll-free at 866-496-7269 or visit www.justusleague.com.
Dedicated to the principles of honesty, integrity, and the
idea that being forced to buy two drinks just to enjoy a
night of good comedy really sucks, the JustUs League strives
to provide shows that include original sketch comedy,
groundbreaking short video features, and up-and-coming
standup comics and musical acts at an affordable
price.
