The Asia
Society founded by John D. Rockefeller 3rd was established in 1956.
The Asia Society is a global organization which functions all over US and Asia.
It carries out educational programs and schedules, through different events. The
programs incorporate human rights, environment, global health, and position of
women. Due to the interconnection and combination of culture and economy, the
projects are designed keeping in mind the uniqueness of the culture and
heritage. The mission of Asia society is to encourage the understanding level
amongst the common people. They aim in promoting knowledge, creative skill,
dialogue and incorporate new ideas in the field of business, art, tradition and
education.

Admission Timings:
The Museum
galleries remain closed on Mondays, New Year’s Day, Independence Day,
Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and from July 4 to Labor Day.
Tuesday –
Sunday: 11a.m. to 6p.m.; only on Fridays the time extends till 9 p.m.

Admission Fees:
Admission
fee is free for members under 16years. Special free entrance is given on Fridays
from 6p.m. to 9p.m.Visiting the Asia store and Garden Court café is absolutely
free of cost.

Programs:
The museum holds special educational programs, group tours
and exhibitional tours. The school and educational programs presents some
interactive sessions for the school children ranging from grades 3-12. Here the
teachers and students can discuss about art and works. The classes are held from

Group
Packages includes
discounted admissions and tour schedules. Group visits consists of 20 or more

The Daily Exhibition tours, takes place on
Tuesday-Friday between 12:30p.m to 2:00p.m.and Saturdays and Sundays at 2:00p.m.
On Fridays another shift also takes place at 6:30p.m.

Collections:
The Asia Society holds artifacts ranging from both ancient,
and the present times. It is a compilation of the collections of regions from
Asia and the West. The museum also houses collection of masterpieces. The
compilation reflects rich works of art. The art defines excellence of the
artists, their biographies and their wit. The performing art department reflects
the Asian and Asian American artists; the showings of the documentaries and
fictional films. The art society also offers you with a variety of lectures,
interviews, video clips; you also get to know a lot about authors and writers.

Education:
America should become a cynosure of educational and cultural
events. With this concept in view the educational system needs to be refreshed
and new programs need to be included.
To turn this view into reality, several school reform issues
are being undertaken where this schedule can be included into the American

The United States aims that all the students should get the
scope to learn more about foreign languages
and regions. The on-line
teacher
community facilitates interactive sessions, online classes.
The Asia society provides teachers’ resource which includes several lesson
plans, essays, and photographic images, historical and geographical maps.
For students and families many international careers are set
up, several contests also take place. Educative movies are made, foreign
languages are taught, interactive atlases are published and alertness regarding
global issues is raised in their minds.
The Asia Society also carries out several programs for the
kids. Several animated games are designed for them. Historical stories of
Ramayana, Shahnameh and Panchatantra are colorfully presented for the kids. Kids
are also inspired to learn foreign languages and history of Asia is taught. For
