Archives and manuscripts:
The New
York Public Library is a unique and multifaceted library. It has a vast
collection that is at par with the British library, the Bibliotheque nationale
de France and the Library of Congress.
The
research library holds collected works of several testimonials, manuscripts and
diaries. The collection also holds records of some organizations, photographic

Library
card and Membership:
Apart from
borrowing books, the library card can also be used for making use of the
resources. The online usage includes renewing of the cards and accessing the
catalogues. In the New York Public Library there are two cards available, the
Branch Libraries card and the Access card. The Access card functions for the
purpose of reading, in the library rooms. The Branch Libraries card helps to
borrow items renew books online.
The Branch
Libraries card requires no charge for working people, students, and tax payers.
Apart from them membership can be accessed with a nominal amount of $100. Access
cards are free of charge for everyone, only fees may be charged for replaced

Rentals:
The
library provides rental space for hosting social programs including Wedding
receptions, corporate meetings and conferences. It also offers facilities for
shooting, fashion shows, photography. Special permission is required for
utilizing the benefits.
The
Humanities and Social Sciences Library offers lease in the Astor hall, Celeste
Bartos Forum, McGraw rotunda, Trustee room and the South Court Auditorium. The
Schomburg Centre offers rentals at the Langston Hughes auditorium, Langston
Hughes atrium and American Negro theatre. For further information you can call
at 212.491.2257. Rents are also provided in the local libraries for the purpose
of photographic shootings. The Science Industry and Business Library also offer
leases for conferences. The fees structure will be available to you with the
