NYC Off-Broadway Week is a twice-yearly program that celebrates live theater at its most intimate and spontaneous. Off-Broadway is a staple of New York’s thriving theater culture—a vehicle for so-called straight plays (dramas without music), genre-defying experiences and Pulitzer Prize recipients. The theaters accommodate 100 to 499 seats, an intimate experience compared to Broadway’s houses, which hold between 500 and 1,800. Ticket availability is limited, and popular shows sell out quickly. Occasionally, additional seats are released throughout the program but it’s best to book ahead.
