If you're lucky enough to have a pet, and luckier still to have it along on your New York City trip, good news: a number of New York hotels of varying styles and price levels are eager to welcome the furry members of your family. Some pull out all the stops, offering special services like walking, grooming and even gourmet room-service menus—check with each hotel about any extra fees or weight restrictions involved. All the attention may be enough to make you jealous.

The rooftop, which has excellent views of Lower Manhattan, features a 45-foot-long pool and bar. The hotel also offers a gym, spa, hair salon and “bikini concierge,” which will bring a selection of styles to your room. The new Whitney Museum, the High Line and Chelsea galleries are a short distance away; if your pooch is too pooped to make the journey by paw (or you just can't bear to be parted), use one of the hotel's “puppy purses,” a kind of Snugli carrier for dogs.
