Great Plays on Broadway This Summer

The current Broadway theater season has been an extraordinary one for new plays. At the recent Tony Awards, all four shows nominated for Best Play were by American playwrights who were making their Broadway debuts. (Three of them are still playing: IndecentA Doll's House, Part 2 and Oslo, which won the award.) There’s no better time to check out what’s new onstage.

While tickets to some of the buzziest Broadway musicals are infamously hard to come by, tickets for these new dramas and comedies can be much more gettable, with many often on the TKTS discount booth—check the TKTS app or website daily for what’s available. So plan ahead and purchase tickets online or get your tickets on line in Times Square (or one of the other TKTS locations, in South Street Seaport, Downtown Brooklyn or Lincoln Center), and come see the best new plays in town.
