Must-See Jamaica Bay: Dining

With all the things to see and do around Jamaica Bay, it's easy to work up an appetite. Thankfully, the waterfront expanse features plenty of dining options—from sit-down restaurants to casual stands—that will keep you fueled all day long, no matter how you choose to spend your time there. While some are best reached by car or bike, those who travel by subway are never far from the area's edibles. A mouthwatering array of food vendors can be found on sections of the boardwalk at Beach 86th Street, Beach 97th Street and Beach 106th Street during the summer season, from mid-May to late September.

The culinary offerings at these boardwalk destinations include kebabs at Uma's (Beach 97th), burgers at Rippers (Beach 86th), arepas from Caracas (Beach 106th) and drinks at Low Tide Bar (Beach 97th). A new eatery with a Carribean vibe, Dredsurfer Grill at Beach 17th Street, has a menu with dishes like grilled salmon, jerk chicken and roasted corn. Read on for where to eat around Jamaica Bay.
