American Stock Exchange Building
Description
Formerly known as the New York Curb Exchange Building, the American Stock Exchange Building is an icon of the City’s history as a financial capital. The building held a stock trading floor from 1920 to 2009, when the American Stock Exchange merged with the neighboring New York Stock Exchange. Named a New York City landmark in 2012, the structure features two different design styles. The Greenwich Street side, built in 1921 is designed in a neo-Renaissance style, while the Trinity Place façade, added in 1930, exemplifies Art Deco architecture. While it is currently being converted into a hotel and retail center, the building maintains its historic design.
