Grand Concourse

Description

Stroll the neighborhood’s most notable street for a taste of all the Bronx has to offer, from arts and architecture and international culture and cuisine. Engineered by French immigrant Louis Aloys Risse, it was envisioned as rivaling the Champs-Élysées in Paris. Today, the 5.2 mile stretch represents a mosaic of the area’s history alongside an array of art deco residential buildings, the Andrew Freedman Home, the Bronx Museum of the Arts and more. Various companies do walking tours of the street and its architecture.
