People walk and play in a green, sunlit park. Trees provide shade, and a few kids with a soccer ball stand on a paved path. A lamppost and fence are visible, with more people in the distance.

Description

Rufus King Park is a delightful green space in the heart of Jamaica, Queens. Once part of the estate of Rufus King, a lawyer and leading anti-slavery politician as well an original signer of the US Constitution, it now has a soccer field, basketball and handball courts, and a children's playground, plus plenty of quiet lawns and gardens. The main attraction is the King Manor Museum, a handsome Georgian and Federal-style structure that was once King’s home.
