Staten Island Supreme Courthouse
Description
Modeled after ancient Roman architecture, this L-shaped courthouse (which houses the supreme court and the surrogate court as well as other government offices) was built by famed architects Thomas Hastings and John Carrere from 1913 to 1919 (although Carrere died in 1911). Now a designated New York City landmark building, the courthouse is just across the garden from the Staten Island Borough Hall, another official landmark.
