Turtle Pond

Description

This man-made pond is located between the Great Lawn and Belvedere Castle in Central Park. The pond is what remains of the Croton Water System reservoir, after it was filled in to build the Great Lawn in 1937. Today, it’s a popular place to spot wildlife like birds, dragonflies, damselflies and naturally, five species of turtles.
