Gear Up for the World Cup at These Soccer Shops

In summer 2026 the World Cup is coming to North America. With eight matches (including the final) at nearby New York New Jersey Stadium, New York City is primed to be soccer central for a month and a half. Whether you’re lucky enough to get tickets for a game or going some place in the five boroughs to cheer on your side, you’ll want to make your loyalties known.

NYC’s specialist stores have you covered for game-day gear, selling everything from vintage Brazil jerseys to the current Morocco kits (full uniforms)—and, of course, plenty of goods to rep the US men’s national team. Read on for around a dozen soccer shops to check out.

Adidas Flagship Store New York

565 Fifth Ave., Midtown Manhattan

Adidas is a top sponsor of FIFA World Cup 2026™ (supplying the official match balls), and the whole first floor of its giant New York City flagship is dedicated to soccer (kids’ soccer gear is on the third floor). You’ll find shirts and merch for the World Cup–qualified teams that Adidas sponsors: defending champion Argentina and Euro champs Spain, plus Algeria, Belgium, Colombia, Curaçao, Germany, Italy, Japan, Mexico, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Scotland and South Africa. The concrete-and-steel interior feels a bit like a sports stadium, with giant screens showing live games. You can even get that World Cup jersey customized and test out a pair of soccer cleats.

Classic Football Shirts

323 Canal St., Soho, Manhattan

Hardcore soccer fans look no further: this UK-based retailer stocks vintage soccer jerseys and classic kits from the 1970s to the present day. Think England’s 1970s kits, Diego Maradona’s 1980s shirts and David Beckham’s and Zinedine Zidane’s 1990s jerseys. You can watch live soccer for free at the back, and the changing room walls are smothered with fascinating football memorabilia.

Euromex Soccer

246 E. 116th St., East Harlem, Manhattan

A local fixture for over 30 years, this small but beautifully curated neighborhood store has a friendly staff and stocks official World Cup kits, some vintage shirts and lots of club gear, including for major teams in Liga MX (the top Mexican league). Look out for hard-to-find club and national shirts from Central and South America.

Paragon Sports

867 Broadway, Union Square, Manhattan

Family run for more than a century, Paragon is a NYC institution—and a massive one, servicing just about every sport and outdoor activity you can think of. The soccer section at the back of the first floor stocks a range of gear from the main World Cup suppliers (though primarily Adidas). There’s also a tremendous selection of soccer accessories: cleats, balls, socks, goalkeeper gloves, even team caps. Paragon is especially good for bargains, either on its discount rack or during sales throughout the year.

Pelé Soccer

1560 Broadway, Times Square/Theatre District, Manhattan

Right in the heart of Times Square, this homage to the world’s greatest soccer player occupies part of the old Embassy Theatre (it’s a designated landmark). Information about Pelé lines the long, tunnellike entrance, and there’s a wax model of the Brazilian legend from Madame Tussauds, a commemorative mural by artist Dave Merrell and all sorts of merch, including replicas of Pele’s number 10 shirt. Pelé played for the New York Cosmos from 1975 to 1977 and attended the opening of this store in 2019. It sells a decent collection of football jerseys from major clubs and national teams (not just Brazil)—which can be customized—plus limited-edition cleats and streetwear. A gargantuan screen at the back shows live matches.

45 Crosby St., Soho, Manhattan

With one of the larger collections of vintage soccer jerseys anywhere, Saturdays Football is a bit like a museum for soccer fanatics. Rifle through racks of shirts from all the top nations and players (Messi, Ronaldo, Maradona) and, refreshingly, jerseys associated with women’s clubs too. The super-friendly staff can help you sift through the assorted vintage USA shirts; replicas of those worn by the likes of Bergkamp, Ronaldinho and Mbappe; and Liga MX and Bundesliga (Germany’s top league) team kits.

240 N. Henry St., Greenpoint, Brooklyn

This tiny store, which is only open Fridays from noon to 7pm, is the brainchild of Lucas Capozzi-Shanks, who runs a larger online operation selling his original sportswear designs. For soccer aficionados, it’s worth heading here to look over the small collection of vintage gems: you might find a 1980s England shirt, Brazilian club tops, rare 1990s merch from English Premier League clubs, Major League Soccer hoodies, World Cup caps and even posters, pint glasses and scarves.

Soccer Post

34-22 Steinway St., Astoria, Queens; 359 Atlantic Ave., Downtown Brooklyn; 250 W. 86th St., Upper West Side, Manhattan

This dependable chain, founded in New Jersey in the 1970s, operates three locations in the City and is one of the largest community-focused soccer specialty companies in the United States. Its emphasis is on playing gear—everything from cleats to training essentials is available—but there’s plenty of World Cup–related merch for sale, plus kits from the National Women’s Soccer League, MLS and European clubs. Periodic sales (like those after Thanksgiving or around July 4) can halve prices on some items.

For bargains: Roosevelt Avenue in Jackson Heights, Queens

Bargain hunters should trek to Jackson Heights, where locally owned sports stores on Roosevelt Avenue sell discounted soccer shirts, rare club gear—especially from Latin America—and the odd vintage piece. Start at Ecuamex Variedades (84-18 Roosevelt Ave.), which has a surprisingly vast array of soccer and other sports equipment at low rates and can even customize names and numbers. Other stores worth checking out include Sona Soccer (94-16 Roosevelt Ave.) and David Sports (95-09 Roosevelt Ave.).

World Cup shirt sponsors

Including Adidas, 11 companies are making shirts for the 42 teams currently qualified for the 2026 FIFA World Cup (six more participants will be determined in late March). Nike sponsors the United States, Canada, South Korea, Australia, Brazil, Uruguay, England, France, Croatia, Norway and the Netherlands; Puma supports New Zealand, Paraguay, Morocco, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Senegal, Portugal, Austria and Switzerland; and Panama is sponsored by Reebok.

Nike’s huge glass-fronted Manhattan flagship, called the House of Innovation (650 Fifth Ave.), has a soccer section on the fourth floor, while Puma’s flagship—closed until further notice due to a burst pipe—is a short walk away (609 Fifth Ave.). Note, however, that most of the stores listed above stock shirts from multiple suppliers.
