Verrazano-Narrows-Brücke
Beschreibung
Benannt nach Giovanni da Verrazano, der 1524 als erster europäischer Entdecker in New York Harbor segelte, war die Verrazano-Narrows Bridge die längste Federungsspanne der Welt, als sie 1964 eröffnet wurde. Die Brücke verbindet die Bezirke Brooklyn und Staten Island und bietet die kürzeste Route zwischen den mittleren Atlantikstaaten und Long Island.
