Obwohl der offizielle Feiertag am 19. Juni stattfindet, feiert New York City den ganzen Monat über den 10. Juni. Zu den größeren Gedenkstätten gehören Veranstaltungen und Programme in den verschiedenen Niederlassungen der New York Public Library, das Festival Juneteenth in Queens, Brooklyns Juneteenth NY Celebration und das Staten Island Juneteenth Freedom Festival im Snug Harbor Cultural Center.
