The Word-Shimmering Sea: Diego Velázquez / Enrique Martínez Celaya

Beschreibung

When Cuban artist and former physicist Enrique Martínez Celaya was 6, he received a notebook featuring Diego Velázquez’s Portrait of a Little Girl. He was drawn to the girl, though he didn’t know much about the artist’s importance until moving to Madrid later in life. This exhibit is framed as an immersion into that notebook, exploring the past and present as it relates to both artists’ lives.
