Nahaufnahme mit Gotham Girls Roller Derby

Gotham Girls Roller Derby, die flache Liga, die in der Stadt operiert, ist das Beste ihrer Art; die All-Stars in NYC haben mehr Titel gewonnen als jedes andere Team in der Nation. Die Liga besteht aus vier lokalen Teams – Bronx Gridlock, Brooklyn Bombshells, Manhattan Mayhem und Queens of Pain –, deren Skater an harten Spielen teilnehmen, bevor sie Menschenmassen anfeuern und bunte Derby-Namen wie Annie Mergency und Kid Vicious sportieren. Wir trafen einige der Athleten bei einer kürzlichen Übung und einer anschließenden Runde, bei der wir den Unterschied zwischen einem Jammer und einem Blocker erfuhren – und was nötig ist, um in der härtesten Derby-Liga der Welt zu gewinnen.
