Das Schoenfeld wurde ursprünglich 1918 als Plymouth Theater eröffnet und änderte seinen Namen 2005 zu Ehren des Vorsitzenden der Shubert-Organisation. Bekannt für ihre gut aufgenommenen Komödien und Dramen (Equus , The Odd Couple , The House of Blue Leaves ), hat es auch zahlreiche Hit-Musicals (The Pirates of Penzance , Jekyll & Hyde ) inszeniert.
