Diese feministische akrobatische Tanztruppe wurde 1994 von Sarah East Johnson gegründet und zeigt künstlerische Werke, die Tanz, Theater und Akrobatik kombinieren. LAVA hat in ganz New York City an Veranstaltungsorten wie PS 122, Dance Theater Workshop und Symphony Space aufgetreten und zahlreiche Auszeichnungen erhalten, darunter ein OBIE im Jahr 2000.
