Beschreibung
Dieser riesige Pier wurde 1962 für die Holland America Cruise Line erbaut und ist mehr als nur der Standort eines großen öffentlichen Parkhauses und Docks für Ausflugsschiffe. Pier 40 umfasst auch einen großen Sportfeldkomplex, das River Project Wetlab des Hudson River Park, ein Anlegefeld und ein Community-Bootfahrtsprogramm. Darüber hinaus befindet sich die einzige Outdoor-Trapezeschule New York Citys auf dem Dach.
