Nordlich des East Village und östlich von Gramercy ist das Stuyvesant Town–Peter Cooper Village eine große Wohnanlage nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg auf der Ostseite Manhattans. „StuyTown“ ersetzte das Gashausviertel der Gaslagertanks mit der Eröffnung seines ersten Gebäudes im Jahr 1947.
