Die Leute hinter dem Staten Island Jazz Festival tun so viel mehr – seit 1967 bietet das UTA kostengünstige Musik- und Kunstausbildung, Live-Aufführungen und andere kulturelle Programme für lokale Kinder und Teenager an, sowohl an Schulen in der Gegend als auch in ihrem eigenen Studio. Die Gruppe bietet auch Kurse und Workshops in den Bereichen Umweltausbildung, Webdesign und digitale Medien an.
