La fotógrafa estadounidense Anne Brigman fue pionera en el arte feminista, mucho antes de que la frase entrara en juego. Brigman dejó su huella con sus imágenes de paisajes de principios del siglo XX, tomándose fotos a sí misma y a otras mujeres desnudas en la Sierra Nevada. Más de 100 de sus obras se exhiben en la Gallery de Arte Gris de la NYU.
