Descripción
Founded by Bed-Stuy locals Stevenson Dunn Jr. and Erwin John in 2012 (as an offshoot of their Washington DC gallery), the Bishop occupies the old Pfizer factory building at the northern edge of Bed-Stuy. The gallery champions contemporary artists like Sophia Victor, Quiana Parks, Jabari Jefferson, and Alexandre Keto, as well as established names such as Jean-Michel Basquiat and Armenian-American artist Yenovk Der Hagopian. It also holds an array of Biggie Smalls art and is open Saturdays noon to 6pm; weekdays are by appointment only.
