If you forget to bring your own picnic food to Central Park, head over to the takeout window at the Delacorte Theater, which plays host every summer to Shakespeare in the Park. Danny Meyer (famous for his work at Union Square Cafe, Gramercy Tavern and Shake Shack) is behind Public Fare—so expect top-notch concession food. The emphasis is on freshly prepared, seasonal food; soups, salads and sandwiches are made with carefully sourced ingredients. There's a brief list of wine and beer, along with delectable sweets like cookies, a brownie, a whoopie pie and a root beer float.
