In the basement of the gloriously exotic yet civilized Japanese department store Takashimaya rests one of the sweetest tea houses in Manhattan, the soothing Tea Box Café. This 60-seat, L-shaped restaurant offers both afternoon tea with pastries, cookies, tea sandwiches and fresh fruit, as well as a daily bento box lunch surprise from Chef Taro Mitsuiki.
