Description

Rembrandt’s Abraham Entertaining the Angels is part of a private collection and was last on public view 10 years ago. The painting will serve as the centerpiece of a tightly focused exhibit about Rembrandt's ongoing engagement with Abraham and his story that includes works dating from the 1630s to the 1650s. Also part of the exhibit is his 1655 etching the Sacrifice of Isaac, which depicts the scene where Abraham hears and feels the angel who is sent to save his son.
