Description

Adrian (aka Gilbert Adrian) was a costume designer who worked on more than 250 films during the 1930s and ’40s, including The Wizard of Oz. (He’s credited with designing the red-sequined ruby slippers worn by Judy Garland in the film.) The designer dressed glamorous actresses of the time, including Greta Garbo and Katharine Hepburn, and created many of Joan Crawford’s signature looks: think large shoulder pads. This show focuses on Adrian’s ready-to-wear and his costumes from the old Hollywood era.
