Description

The Apollo’s new season, The Renaissance is Now!, will feature in-person performances and online events on the Apollo Digital Stage. Highlights include Jamie Foxx celebrating the release of his memoir, Act Like You Got Some Sense (October 16); Amanda Seales' Smart Funny and Black Live!, part of the NY Comedy Festival (November 12); Shoshana Bean’s Sing Your Hallelujah (December 13); and the return of Amateur Night at the Apollo (February 16, 2022). In addition to perennial favorites such as Apollo Film Presents (November 4), Kwanzaa Celebration: Regeneration Night (December 26) and Apollo’s Uptown Hall: MLK Celebration (January 9), the season features the launch of Apollo New Works, the Apollo’s first commissioning project. Participants include Kamau Ware of Black Gotham Experience, Keith Josef Adkins of New Black Fest, and Chen Lo and Asante Amin of Soul Science Lab.
