Art X Fashion

calendar_month

Feb 18, 2026 - Apr 19, 2026

Description

Fine art and fashion are often inextricably linked—and when they come together, it’s known as “decorative” or “applied” art. The Museum at FIT displays 140 garments, textiles and accessories from its permanent collection that help to trace the history of this intersection from the 18th-century rococo to late-20th-century postmodernism. Also included are explorations of the art/fashion overlap in works from artists like Salvatore Dalí, Pablo Picasso and Antonio Lopez, and designers Vivienne Tam, Elsa Schiaparelli and Issey Miyake.
