Description
Educator, activist and Harlem Renaissance leader Augusta Savage fought her way past poverty, racism and sexism to become an influential sculptor and inspiration to generations of artists. This show, which helps commemorate the centennial of the Harlem Renaissance, explores Savage’s work and that of those she impacted, such as Jacob Lawrence, Gwendolyn Knight and Norman Lewis.
