Description
The impact of cars has been felt on our built environment since they entered the consumer world more than a century ago. This exhibit focuses on the way that cars have reshaped our lives, both in the physical and interpersonal sense as their prevalence has shifted the perception of mobility and distance. In addition to the eight cars on view, highlights of this exhibit include Lilly Reich’s 1930s designs for a tubular steel car seat and Andy Warhol’s silkscreen painting Orange Car Crash Fourteen Times.
