A man sits on the edge of a dimly lit bed, looking ahead thoughtfully, while a woman lies beside him with her eyes closed in a dark, softly illuminated room.
A man in a plaid sleeveless shirt leans aggressively toward another man in a hoodie, who is sitting and writing in a notebook. They are indoors, with a lamp, basket, and wall art visible in the background.
A person stands near the open door of a dimly lit hotel room at sunset, with warm sunlight casting long shadows across the bed and walls. The room appears cozy and quiet, with a painting hanging above the bed.

Description

This Broadway premiere from playwright Tracy Letts and Steppenwolf explores what becomes of the unexpected romance between a lonely waitress (Carrie Coon) and a mysterious drifter (Namir Smallwood). What begins as a simple connection between two broken people in a seedy Oklahoma motel room leads to paranoia, surveillance and danger.
