Description

Set at the World Chess Championship during the Cold War, this musical revival pits America versus Russia in a story where espionage and romance provide as much excitement as the game itself. Chess tells the tale of two rival grandmasters and the woman who is torn between them. The music, which includes mid-1980s smashes “One Night in Bangkok” and “I Know Him So Well,” is from Swedish band ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus, with Tim Rice as co-lyricist; Aaron Tveit, Lea Michele and Nicholas Christopher star.
