Raise a glass to Washington at Manhattan’s oldest building in honor of the nation’s 250th anniversary. Warm up with a Colonial-style mulled wine and an evening of art, history and celebration. Author Renee Witterstaetter discusses Cloaked Crusader: George Washington in Comics and Pop Culture, an entertaining look at how Washington has appeared in sequential art (comic book art) from tavern signs and early prints to comic books and movies over the past 250 years. The program includes a wine tasting featuring selections from Brotherhood Winery (Washingtonville, New York) America’s oldest operating winery, as well as lively caricatures by artist Edward Murr.
