Description
Codeswitch, which features more than 50 quilt-based artworks that Biggers has created over two decades, explores issues of urban culture, the body, sacred geometry and American symbolism. Biggers began working in the quilt medium following a 2009 commission by Hidden City Philadelphia, during which he was asked to produce work for the Mother Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church, a stop on the Underground Railroad.
