Dead Horse Bay: The Glass Graveyard of Brooklyn

This event has already occurred

Description

While Dead Horse Bay is sometimes forgotten due to its location, the Bay cannot forget the city's history that forms the its past, present and future. Physically shaped by Robert Moses, the Bay's history was shaped by both the horse rendering plants along its shore and the landfill below it. The bottles that have not decomposed are regularly brought to the surface as the waves erode the sand. This exhibit draws its theme from these bottles, and the connection of glass to daily life then and now.
