Description

Syrian sculptor Diana Al-Hadid's work is being showcased in both the Bronx and Manhattan this summer. Running concurrently with Madison Square Park's installation of her new sculptural works, this exhibit features Nolli’s Orders, which is inspired by Giambattista Nolli’s landmark 1748 map of Rome that shows the Eternal City's public spaces as transparent in contrast to its private spaces depicted as solid. In her sculpture, Al-Hadid uses some of the same tools to showcase the juxtaposition of spaces. The sculpture is accompanied by additional works and a range of primary source materials.
