Description

Native designers have rarely controlled how their own stories are told—instead, mythmakers and marketers have used graphic design to steer their historical narrative. But Native graphic art has a rich history of innovators creating dynamic, subversive, optimistic work despite the colonization and marginalization they’ve suffered. Spanning nearly two centuries and 60-plus tribes, this exhibition at the Poster House celebrates Native life and how Indigenous people have existed and thrived alongside—and in resistance to—colonial narratives.
