Description
In tandem with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, the Brooklyn Museum spotlights the movements and individuals who fought for greater equity and freedoms. Two marquee exhibitions headline the program: Common Sense (May 1–November 8) presents two works by Thomas Paine alongside contemporary artworks that question the future of democracy; and Donald Moffett: Impeach (opening June 5) is a sound installation based around a 1998 speech by John Lewis, who called for national unity during the impeachment trial of President Bill Clinton.
