Erwin Wurm: Hot Dog Bus

Viewer participation is essential to fully experience Erwin Wurm’s newest installation, Hot Dog Bus, a converted VW microbus taking up summer residence in Brooklyn Bridge Park. Fortunately for viewers, participation is as simple as receiving and eating a free hot dog, which will be served directly out of the cartoonishly bulbous, bright yellow bus on Saturdays and Sundays. Organizers say that Wurm’s interactive installation “will encourage audiences to reconsider the relationship between capitalism and consumption in today’s culture.”
