Description

The Coney Island Museum (“Fun, Etc.”) is a perennial seaside charmer. This show, originally curated for the New York Transit Museum, focuses on the importance public transportation has played over the course of the neighborhood’s development, tracing the history of transit to the amusement district through objects, maps and images. It makes a solid argument that Coney Island wouldn’t be Coney Island if it weren’t for the subway, which is still the best way to get there today.
