Flower Power
May 23, 2026 - Oct 18, 2026
Description
The 1960s were filled with upheaval and social activism, but it was also a time when peace and hippie culture emerged, along with the political movement known as “flower power,” which embodied passive resistance and nonviolence. Sixty years later, the New York Botanical Garden celebrates how flowers came to represent peace and love as proponents of the movement helped to cultivate a closer relationship with the natural world. Monumental installations, botanical tableaus, photography and visual art from this time period invite visitors to join in and feel the love.
