Future Schools: Toward a 21st Century Academy

Since its inception in 1825, the National Academy has served as both a museum and a school, whose mission has been to provide education and exhibition opportunities. To that end, the academy presents this exhibition that challenges and rethinks arts education and exhibition practices with the goal of transforming the future of schools and museums through five core principles: pedagogy, representation, collaboration, dialogue and community. The exhibition itself highlights the work of several practitioners whose work breaks through boundaries and provides new ideas and insights for bettering the artistic cultural landscape.
