Gilded Age Drawings at The Met
This event has already occurred
Description
The Gilded Age, a period covering the late 19th century in the US, began shortly after The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s 1870 opening. During this time some of America’s most important artists—including Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent and Mary Cassatt—created watercolor, charcoal and pastel works on paper. More than three dozen of these pieces, which make up a rarely seen portion of The Met’s holdings, will be on display during this exhibition.
