Description
Based on the Pulitzer Prize–winning adaptation from Lynn Nottage, this powerful musical was inspired by the original 1933 book of the same name. The story explores how two single mothers—one Black and one white—building a life together, experience the world very differently, dictated by race and class, and how those experiences are passed down to future generations. The original score is by John Legend, and the strictly limited production is directed by Tony nominee Whitney White.
