It Happened Here: American Presidents in New York
This event has already occurred
Description
Every American president has passed through New York City. Theodore Roosevelt was born here; Herbert Hoover spent his presidential years living at the Waldorf Astoria; and Abraham Lincoln gave his famous speech at Cooper Union that launched his candidacy. CultureNOW, the Lower Manhattan Historical Association and the National Park Service present a symposium exploring presidents’ impact on NYC. Celebrate Presidents’ Day at Federal Hall, our first capital whose balcony was the site of Washington’s inauguration. RSVP is required.
