Description

A good portion of Black history in New York revolves around Foley Square in Lower Manhattan. CultureNOW’s It Happened Here series presents a day of Black history exploration that begins with a tour of the African Burial Ground led by architect Rodney Leon and included artwork at Foley Square. Next up is a program highlighting three legal pioneers—Justice Thurgood Marshall, Judge Constance Baker Motley and Judge Robert L. Carter—who collaborated at the NAACP Legal Defense Fund before going on to preside on the federal bench at the Thurgood Marshall Courthouse. Attendees must RSVP.
