Description
Jackie Robinson Day (April 15) celebrates the day the baseball player made his major league debut as the first Black player back in 1947. NYC Parks puts on its own observance of this milestone event with the 4th Annual Jackie Robinson Day Festival on April 12. The free, family-friendly event at Harlem's Jackie Robinson Park celebrates the contributions of this New York City legend to the sports world and the civil rights movement. Activities include live music and performances, baseball clinics and games, arts and crafts, and food from local food trucks.
