Weekends at the South Street Seaport Museum offer hands-on activities for visitors of all ages, bringing maritime history to life. For January, families are invited to make their own Signal Flag Swags. For centuries, colorful flags were the only form of communication between ships at sea. Learn how these vibrant patterns once carried important messages at sea as you create your own personalized signal flag banner. Put your decorating skills to the test as you explore the museum, the 1885 tall ship Wavertree and the 1908 lightship Ambrose.
